200kVA Crane AMF Hybrid Power Solution

Solution Information

Above is an example of a hybrid power solution combining a 200kVa diesel generator with one of our 45kVa 45kWh battery storage systems via a AMF panel.

In this example we are running the generator between the hours of 7am - 6pm Monday - Friday and Saturday 8am - 2pm. The battery controls the generator automatically based on these site operating times but outside of these hours the battery keeps power to the crane aviation light and hydraulic fluid heaters. This solution delivers a reduction in generator run time of almost 64%. As you can see the generator has 2 outputs, the first is connected into the primary input of the AMF which powers the crane directly all day. The second generator output is connected to the battery system which is then fed into the secondary input of the AMF panel.

When the generator is turned off power to the primary input is lost so the AMF automatically changes over to the battery system which feeds the essential overnight loads such as the crane aviation light. Although the battery requirement is small we are delivering a huge reduction in generator run time.
