Full Hybrid Split Distribution Power Solution
Below is an example of a hybrid power solution combining a 60kVa diesel generator with one of our 45kVa 45kWh battery storage systems.
In this example we are running the solution in full hybrid mode. This means that the battery controls the generator automatically based on the battery charge level and the site electrical load. When load is high the battery starts the generator and when the load drops low the generator is automatically stopped. The changeover between the battery and generator is seamless and delivers a 70% reduction in generator run time.
As you can see the battery system is connected to the main site distribution board which feeds all the non essential loads. We control the power to this distribution board turning it off at 7pm once everyone has left site. The essential loads such as the drying rooms and CCTV cameras are wired directly to the battery maintaining a constant power supply. This full hybrid mode solution delivers the largest reduction in generator runtime but the generator could possibly start anytime day or night.
